Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

Our formulations are designed to be gentle and well-tolerated, excluding fragrance, denatured alcohol, sulfates, and parabens. However, as individual skin sensitivity varies, we recommend performing a patch test before full application.

We exclude a long list of commonly known irritants and questionable ingredients, including:

Fragrance & Essential Oils Bases– Can cause irritation and allergic reactions

Denatured Alcohol & Drying Alcohols – Strips moisture and disrupts the skin barrier

Sulfates (SLS & SLES) – Harsh surfactants that can over-strip the skin

Parabens – Common preservatives that some individuals prefer to avoid

Formaldehyde-Releasing Preservatives – Known to cause sensitivities over time

High-Percentage AHA/BHAs – Can lead to over-exfoliation and barrier damage

Harsh Physical Exfoliants (Walnut, Apricot Scrubs, Microbeads) – Can cause micro-tears in the skin

Lanolin – Can be comedogenic and irritating for acne-prone skin

Direct Coconut Oil – Known to clog pores for some skin types

Methylisothiazolinone & Methylchloroisothiazolinone – Linked to skin sensitivities

Will it cause breakouts or clog pores?

Our products are free from the common above level 2-5 pore-clogging ingredients in the main base first 50% of ingredients and formulated to be suitable for texture-prone skin.

Who should avoid certain products?

Nut allergies: Avoid Reset Brightening Night Cream.
Mushroom allergies: Avoid Tremella Lotion, Saffron Serum, Copper Peptide Serum, Hero Eye & Nasal Fold Cream.
Severe allergies: Always check full ingredient lists.
Open or broken skin: Avoid actives until skin has healed.

Can I use this if I have skin concerns like rosacea, eczema, or psoriasis?

Our products are not designed to treat medical skin conditions. If you have a diagnosed concern, we always recommend checking with your dermatologist before making changes to your skincare.

That said, if you are seeking something gentle and supportive, the options our clients with sensitive or reactive skin often find most suitable include:

These selections focus on hydration, balance, and barrier support in the gentlest way possible.

Is it fragrance-free?

Yes — all of our products are fragrance-free.

Is there purging?

Only products with resurfacing actives such as AHAs, BHAs, or Vitamin A (retinol) can cause purging. Products without these ingredients will not trigger this response.

Purging happens when underlying congestion or clogged pores are brought to the surface more quickly. If there is nothing sitting underneath the skin, you won’t experience purging.

At Double Bay Cosmeceuticals, the following may cause a temporary purge:

  • Lactobionic Water Cream Peel and Six Star Peel Cream → stronger purging, part of the clearing process.
  • Glysilic Peel Pads and AHA Toner → lighter purging.
  • Reset Brightening Night Cream and Resilient Pigment Serum → medium purging as the skin adjusts.

Purging usually appears in the same areas where you normally experience breakouts and settles as your skin adjusts. If irritation appears instead (rash, burning, unusual redness), pause use and reassess, as that is different from purging and use only barrier care non active products like the copper cleanser, saffron serum and trehalose water cream as your base routine.

How long will it take to notice changes?

Visible results are often observed within 3 to 21 days, depending on the concern and product used. In cases of more resistant skin conditions, full results may take up to 12 weeks with consistent application. This timeframe reflects approximately three full skin cycles, positioning our formulations as faster-acting than the majority of conventional skincare actives.

Do I need the full routine, or can I buy one product?

Each product delivers results on its own, but our curated routines are designed to work in harmony—removing the guesswork, eliminating unnecessary layers, and ensuring your skin gets everything it needs for faster, more complete results.

What makes this different from other brands?

Redness-friendly, pore-friendly, and refined for all skin types—our formulas pair actives with intention, mastering the art of skincare. Wherever possible, we choose renewable glass over plastic, so every routine cares for both your skin and the planet.

Do these contain fillers?

No — we use only purposeful ingredients.

Are there any interactions with other actives?

Yes — avoid using benzoyl peroxide with our retinols or Reset Brightening Night Cream.

Also, do not pair Vitamin C with the Copper Peptide Serum.

Do these contain harsh exfoliants or drying alcohols?

No — we exclude them to keep the experience gentle and supportive.

Is this safe for pregnancy or breastfeeding?

We cannot make any claims about products during pregnancy or breastfeeding, as no long-term studies have been conducted. Most health agencies, however, recommend avoiding Vitamin A and salicylic acid, which are present in the following products:

  • Six Star Peel Cream
  • Lactobionic Water Cream Peel
  • Clinical Calming Peel Cream
  • Chest & Back KP Scrub

For this stage, we also offer a suitable Bundle, curated with hydration and balance in mind.

Will this interact with my prescription skincare?

If you’re using prescription treatments, we recommend checking with your dermatologist first. Our active products to be mindful of should not be used on the same night as your prescription. Instead, alternate them on different nights:

  • Vitamin C Serum
  • Resilient Pigment Serum
  • Reset Brightening Night Cream
  • Retinol Serum
  • Six Star Peel Cream
  • AHA Toner
  • Glysilic Peel Pads

That said, if you’re seeking a gentle, supportive base, many clients with sensitive or reactive skin often turn to:

As a general best practice, prescription products are usually applied last, after moisturiser, at night—but always confirm with your dermatologist to ensure this routine suits your skin.

Can I mix these with my current products?

Our products integrate easily, but for the most seamless experience we recommend transitioning to a Double Bay routine.

Morning or evening?

Consistency matters most — morning and night.

  • Night use only: Reset Brightening Night Cream, Resilient Pigment Serum, Retinol Serum, AHA Toner, Glysilic Peel Pads, Clinical Calming Peel Cream, Six Star Peel Cream, Lactobionic Water Cream Peel, Licorilactic Lumini Peel.
  • All others: Suitable morning and night.

Will these products pill under makeup?

No—our formulations are designed for compatibility and to create a smooth, refined base for makeup application. The only exception is targeted spot products, such as the Clinical Calming Cream, which are formulated for night use and should not be applied under makeup as it needs to be applied in thick dollops.

Will these product feel heavy on the skin?

No — our products are breathable, and non-greasy.

How much product should I use?

🔹 Cleansers: Use 3-4 pumps for the face, neck, and chest. If wearing makeup, a double cleanse may be needed with the same cleanser. Avoid micellar waters or facial wipes, as they may contribute to clogged pores.

🔹 Serums: Apply 2-4 pumps, pressing gently into the skin.

🔹 Moisturisers: Use half a large grape-sized amount to cover the face, neck, and chest.

For any active products (e.g., retinol, glysilic peel pads, aha toner), avoid applying to the sensitive high points of the cheeks, inner corner of nose and corners of the mouth to offset potential redness.

📦 Instructions for each product are printed on the bottles. For bundle routines, full instructions can be found on the product page of your order.

How do I know if I’m using my products correctly?

If you're unsure keep to three simple steps: cleanse, serum, and moisturise. Introduce actives 1–4 nights per week and never on consecutive nights. If unsure, use less rather than more.

Can I add more products to my routine later?

Yes. Start simple, then expand once you feel comfortable. Many clients begin with a cleanser, serum, and cream, then add products like Reset Brightening Night Cream, Aha toner, Glysilic Pads or Resilient Pigment Serum as their skin builds tolerance.

How do I use and build my routine then?

Consistency matters—we make it simple:

  1. Cleanser – Use a gentle cleanser for 60–90 seconds, rinse with lukewarm water, and pat dry. Double cleanse if wearing makeup or sunscreen.
  2. Toner / Pads (PM only, 1–3x per week) – Apply the AHA Toner or Glysilic Pads after cleansing at night. These boosters help refine pores and resurface skin—avoid using them nightly.
  3. Serum – Apply a serum suited to your skin concern (hydration, brightening, repair). Let it absorb for 30 seconds.
  4. Moisturiser – Seal in hydration with your daily moisturiser. At night, alternate with actives like Reset Cream or Six Star Peel Cream.
  5. Eye Cream – Gently apply to support delicate areas.
  6. Tinted Zinc – Apply Tinted Zinc every morning and reapply if outdoors.

Extra tips:

  • Don’t use toners/pads on the same nights as prescription products.
  • Extend your routine to your neck and chest.
  • Wash your hands before applying products.
  • Bundles make it easy to keep everything compatible and structured.

How should I adjust my skincare for the seasons?

Your skin’s needs shift with the climate, so adjusting textures and support keeps it balanced year-round.

  • Summer: Opt for lighter textures and hydration-focused support. Great options include:
    Tremella Lotion
    Trehalose Water Cream
    Saffron & Ectoin Serum

  • Winter: Choose richer creams and barrier-strengthening serums to combat dryness. Recommended products:
    Six Star Peel Cream
    Amino Lotion
    Ubiquinone Cream
    Eclipta Serum
    Copper Peptide Serum
    Blacred Lotion

What if I run out of one product before the others?

Each product has a different lifespan depending on usage. Most bottles last between 4–16 weeks. You can restock individual items, or choose a bundle to refresh your full routine.

Do I still need professional procedures?

Our routines are designed to deliver real results at home, which is why many professional clinics trust and recommend them for their clients. Some find that since starting Double Bay Cosmeceuticals, they don’t need to visit their clinic as often, while others choose to combine our formulas with professional procedures for added benefits. It’s entirely personal—our products are built to support your skin beautifully, wherever you are.

What if I’m travelling?

Our routines are easy to adapt on-the-go. Travel sizes are available, and if you prefer to travel light, focus on your cleanser, one serum, and a cream.
